Guyana Action Committee to honor President of Fort Valley State University
The Guyana Action Committee (GAC) will honor Dr. Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith, President of Fort Valley State University at its 3rd Black Tie Affair (BTA) on Friday July 19, 2013 at the Occasions Banquet Hall, 127-08 Merrick Boulevard Springfield Gardens, NY 11434. Dr. Griffith is an outstanding academic and educator who prior to becoming the President at Fort Valley State College was Vice- President and Provost at York College, City University of New York.
At the BTA, GAC will also honor Dr. Walter Kyte, retired NYC School Superintendent and Education Consultant, Ms. Nickeitta Leung, an Ally at Public Allies New York, Mr. Reginald Daniels, founder and President of Daniels Financial Services, and Veronica Ralph-Munro, retired NYC Educator and community activist.
GAC is a charitable, not-for-profit organization headquartered in the Greater New York City Area. Since its formation in 2011, the organization has mobilized Guyanese – Americans in the Diaspora and other nationalities sympathetic to our mission. The organization raised funds continuously and engages in projects aimed at providing means for cultural and social change, and economic empowerment for Guyanese in Guyana and the Diaspora.
